LONDON: Chefs get out of the kitchen… and onto a bus

London United Busways, a subsidiary of RATP Dev, gave members of the exclusive gastronomic society Club des Chefs des Chefs a guided tour of the capital as part of Transport for London’s Year of the Bus celebrations.

Members of the Club des Chefs des Chefs, whose associates come from 20 different countries, include the personal chefs to Barack Obama and her Majesty the Queen.

The tour took place in a silver New Routemaster on July 20, during the organisation’s annual assembly, an event held to promote culinary traditions and develop friendship among members who share similar culinary responsibilities in their respective countries.

During the week, members took part in a whole range of activities, including a private visit to view the Queen’s jewels at the Tower of London.

Tim Jackson, CEO of Great Britain and Ireland Business Unit, RATP Dev, said: “It was an honour to provide our silver New Routemaster to the members of the Club des Chefs des Chefs. As a highly elite club it only seemed fitting to provide them with transportation that not only reflected this but which also reflected the culture of London”.
