BOURNEMOUTH: Yellows strike Gold

Yellows Strike Gold

Yellow Buses pulled out all the stops to bag a brace of gongs at the Bournemouth Tourism Awards.

The town’s brightest bus company won the Transport Delivery Award and the Creative Concept of the Year Award.

Jenni Wilkinson, Head of Marketing and Customer Excellence, accepted the delivery award on behalf of the company.

She said: “Without an excellent team we wouldn’t have won this and it is a reflection of all the hard work our staff put in.”

The concept award was for the Yellows’ Gallery Bus, which attracted international attention when it was launched.

‘Artists in Residence’ travelled on buses and afterwards their art was displayed in a bus that continues to run on regular services and delight passengers.

Jenni added: “The Gallery Bus has proved to be incredibly popular and has led to the introduction of other themed buses.

“Getting passengers from A to B is our main concern, but if we can entertain, inform or amuse them along the way then so much the better.

“The Gallery Bus looks amazing which is down to our in-house team that put it all together once the fabulous artists had finished their work.”

Andrew Smith, Managing Director of the Yellows, said: “I am extremely proud of all our staff whose combined efforts have led to these awards.

“The awards are a celebration of our community’s tourism industry and Yellow Buses is an important part of it.”
