EPSOM COACHES REPORTS BUMPER MONTHS FOR DAY TRIPS
Recent research from ¹VisitEngland has shown that day trips across England have risen sharply in popularity this year, with domestic tourism day trips from January to August in England 988 million, up 14% on the same period last year with spend up 9% to £32.2 billion. It’s a trend that leading holiday coach operator Epsom Coaches has seen with September 2016 day trip bookings up 27% compared to this time last year.
And it’s a trend that looks set to continue into October with Epsom Coaches having already achieved 75% of the bookings it took at this time last year for the month of October in the first few days of the month alone.
“Our September and October figures back-up the research from VisitEngland and reflect the growing interest for day trips,” comments Huw Barrington, Commercial Director for Epsom Coaches. “Our longer tours remain very popular; however, we have seen a marked increase in day trip bookings in the last couple of months which looks set to continue into Christmas and beyond. This is down, no doubt, to people’s busy lives and the flexibility of getting away just for the day but also the diverse range of trips that we offer that appeal to all ages.”
Epsom Coaches day trip itinerary for 2017 will offer 207 day trips in the UK and Europe and 155 coach holidays.
