Operating from a purpose built depot, the 135 strong fleet enjoys an unparalleled engineering base with modern state of the art workshops providing support 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

One of the area’s largest employers, Bournemouth Transport have over 350 driving staff in addition to operational, engineering, finance and administration personnel, the presence of their in-house accredited CPC Training Centre and the outstanding skills of their dedicated training staff ensure high standards of Customer Service.

Innovations include a custom journey planner which also offers fare information.

Yellow Buses place themselves firmly at the centre of the Communities they operate within; their innovative Carbon Stoppers promotion in its third year and has raised over £10k to date through weekly Thank You Thursday’s where every trip taken contributes towards a Community Chest distributed with the assistance of the local Daily Echo to charities, clubs and schools within their network area.

David Squire

Managing Director of Bournemouth Transport Ltd


David initially joined RATP Dev as Commercial Director North West, in December 2016, based at Selwyns in Runcorn, with a brief to position the group in the principal bus markets of Greater Manchester and Merseyside to enable the group to expand into local bus tenders and to position itself for any future bus franchising following the Buses Bill in 2017. David moved to Bournemouth in October 2017 to become Managing Director of Bournemouth Transport Ltd, trading as Yellow Buses. David is no stranger to the town or the company, having worked there as Traffic Manager (Buses), back in 2000, when the company was still local authority owned and operated out of the iconic Mallard Road site.

Originally a management trainee in the days of the National Bus Company in the late seventies, David has had many roles in both the bus and coach sectors, working for many well-known names, including 10 years with Arriva in a variety of roles, Warrington Borough Transport as Managing Director and at First Bus, initially as a Regional Operations Director then latterly as Managing Director of Eastern Counties in Norfolk & Suffolk.

David is passionate about the industry and its people and has sat on many bodies including the Chartered Institute of Transport in the North West, he is a Fellow of the Institute.
